M.D. of Foothills is launching its First Rural Character Photo Contest!
The M.D. of Foothills is pleased to announce the launch of its first Rural Character Photo Contest, which will run for a full year, from June 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.
This exciting contest will give everyone an opportunity to show off their photography skills by capturing photos that explore and celebrate the rural character of the M.D.
What is rural character? It’s the unique characteristics of the M.D. and its inhabitants, which includes the landscape, the economy and the social environments.
The three grand prizes and 17 honourable mention prizes in the adult category, plus five grand prizes of digital cameras in the youth category will be awarded to photographers who best portray local rural character as formed by the environment, economy and social elements. The contest is open to everyone, adults (18 and over) and youth (17 and under). Photos must be taken within the boundaries of the M.D. of Foothills. The goal of the M.D. of Foothills is to encourage the exploration of the attributes of rural character within the M.D. through the environment, economy and society in a visual manner.
